Caity Lotz - Interview

Chosen Jacobs - Interview
You might know Chosen Jacobs as Mike Hanlon, one of the seven members of the Losers club in the most recent film rendition of Stephen King’s It. Having delivered a harrowing and impressive performance in the blockbuster movie of the (end of the) summer, it’s not hard to imagine he’ll be moving onto amazing things in the near future. He opens up about his first experience in acting (local Atlanta theater), his musical pursuits (including a song on It’s playlist), and life outside of films (just a normal 16-year-old’s life, really).

Blur the Gender Lines
The fashion and makeup industries, for as long as we can see in recorded modern history, have been heavily coded either female or male. Clothing and cosmetics are so heavily steeped in gender coding, and yet, both industries continue to be saturated in the commonalities of sexism apparent in any part of society. To be taken seriously, even in an industry where men interested in succeeding are largely discouraged: one cannot display feminine traits or standards.

Fashion x Music
Fashion has always been a means of expressing oneself, defining oneself, placing oneself in history or in culture. The same goes for music; the subcultures that have emerged from different music genres and movements as they have risen and fallen in our society have defined one period in history or another in much the same way that fashion has. And both are intricately intertwined, especially in the development of rebellions and movements as they have occurred in the past century.
